Hi, I'm Ran
Based in Wellington, NZ, I'm an experienced UX and Product Designer with a knack for simplifying complex workflows. My secret sauce? Creating intuitive, user-friendly experiences that not only meet user needs but also propel products forward.
Throughout my career in enterprise SaaS companies, I've played various roles – consultant, staff designer, and design lead. In each, I've contributed to noticeable improvements in user adoption, retention, and satisfaction.
What's next?
I'm keen to dive deeper into design strategy, research, systems thinking, and AI. I have a strong interest in agile and lean UX methodologies, and a passion for delivering ethical, inclusive, and accessible experiences for a diverse range of users.
Flick me a message to explore how I can enhance your design team.
Why Wellington
Back in 2017, I made a big leap from Tel Aviv to Wellington, thanks to the 'LookSee Wellington' programme. Out of a whopping 48,000 applications from all around the globe, I was selected as one of the top 100 talents.
Following a week of sightseeing and job interviews in the windy city, it didn't take long before I received a job offer that cemented my decision. Now I call Wellington home.
My work
These case studies, roughly based on actual projects, reflect my design thinking and process, and my contributions to product strategy and execution. Each project required collaborating with a wide team of talented engineers, product people and others. My designs are nothing without their work.
Refactoring a legacy feature: How we streamlined program creation flow
Reimagining the Information Architecture of a Mobile Learning App
Enabling On-the-Go Learning Discovery and Enrolment
Notable brands and organisations
Prominent brands and organizations I have worked for over the years.
"Ran's recent webinar on design principles was nothing short of exceptional, receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback from participants. Exceptional communication skills and collaborative nature make him a pleasure to work with."
"Ran is a natural leader. He is able to set clear goals and expectations. He is also great at delegating tasks, always willing to roll up his sleeves and get involved if needed."
"Ran has a good understanding of the product and takes the time to understand the intricacies of settings and functionality. He welcomes (and invites) feedback on his designs, and is very flexible in accepting feedback."
"He works particularly well with developers in terms of finding a good compromise between the ideal design and the constraints of our existing components."
"He's also really good at doing things in slices: agreeing to a scaled down / scoped down version of a design and having a clear path to iterating on it towards the final version."
